A pilot was killed while a student pilot was in serious condition after the light plane they were flying crash-landed in Bulacan on Tuesday.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) identified the pilot as Arthur Rebollido and his student pilot James Oquialda.
According to reports, the two were doing a touch-and-go when the incident occurred at 4:46pm at Plaridel airport in Brgy. Agnaya, Bulacan.
Both of them were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where the pilot, Capt. Rebollido, was reported dead on arrival.
CAAP spokesman Eric Apolonio said the CAAP headquarters received a report from CAAP area manager Eduardo Lansang that Cessna 152 (C152) with registry number RP-C8691 was in total wreck.
Oquialda, CAAP said, is still under observation due to fractured skull and internal bleeding.
C152 is a general aviation plane used primarily for flight training and personal use.
CAAP crash investigators are now determining the cause of the accident.
