10 ‘candy poisoning’ victims discharged from hospital

Ten students of Juan Sumulong High School in Quezon City were discharged from the Quirino Memorial Medical Center on Sunday afternoon. They were confined after exhibiting symptoms of food poisoning after eating poisoned macapuno candies last July 16. The candies bought by the students were found to contain Organophoshate, a common pesticide used for agriculture and households. The candy vendor, who is at large, sold the candies inside the school.
