LAGUNA: Ten members of the Philippine National Police in Victoria town in this province were relieved on Monday after they were implicated in the murder of two inmates at the Victorial Municipal Jail.
Laguna Provincial Director Senior Supt. Florendo Saligao ordered the immediate relief and transfer of the 10 to the police holding area in Campo Hen. Paciano Rizal in Sta. Cruz town for investigation.
Relieved were Insp. Jesus Herradura Labrador, SPO1 Alexander Jurado Asis, P02 Chris Tanchico Vergara, P02 Romano Dangalan Calucag, P02 Ronald Ramos Sumilang, P02 Jerry Lasig Ohagan, P02 Benedict Jomoray Mercado, P01 June Balahadia Armada, P01 Jamarco Andaya Nollido, and P01 Serafin Dela Cruz.
Saligao said the 10 policemen were implicated in the death of Raymond Reyes and Alfred Magdaong whose bodies were found on October 18 at Sitio Maabo in Barangay San Marcos, San Pablo City.
A witness told investigators that the victims were last seen alive inside Victoria PNP station together with the 10 police.
Saligao also confiscated the service fireamrs of the suspects for ballistic examination.
