• 10 soldiers injured in Sulu clash


    TEN soldiers were wounded when government forces encountered on Friday at least 300 Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) members and the Asian terror group Jema’ah Islamiyah (JI) in Patikul, Sulu. According to reports reaching Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City the ASG were led by Hatib Hajan Sawadjaan, Muamar Askali, Almuktar Suddung, Namiel Ahajari, Basaron Arok and unidentified followers of Yasser Igasan. Also sighted during the encounter were JI members Amin Bacu alias Abu Jihad, one Khalid, an Indonesian-Filipino, Muhamad Mahmud and Muhamad Alih. Two UH-1H helicopters airlifted the wounded Marines to a hospital where they were declared in stab condition.
