SOME areas in Nueva Ecija will experience an 11-hour power outage on Wednesday due to scheduled annual preven- tive maintenance at the Cabanatuan Substation.
In an advisory on Monday, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said the power shutdown is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Ernest Lorenz Vidal, NGCP Central Luzon corporate communications and public affairs officers, said the shutdown of some of its transmission facilities will affect areas being serviced by the Cabanatuan Electric Corpora- tion and Nueva Ecija I Electric Cooperative Inc.
He said the power interruption is due to the facilitation of the annual preventive maintenance and testing of 100MVA transformer and its associated power equipment at Cabanatuan Substation.
Vidal said the affected areas are the cities of Cabanatuan and Gapan and the towns of San Isidro, San Antonio, Jaen, and Cabiao.
“The normal operations will immediately resume after work completion,” Vidal said.
He also advised the customers of NGCP and the general public to take the necessary preparations and precautions for the scheduled interruption.
