12 PHILIPPINE CROCS TO BE RELEASED

SAN MARIANO, Isabela: The Mabuwaya Foundation, a Philippine conservation organization based in Isabela province, will release 12 head-started Philippine crocodiles back into the wild in Dunoy Lake here today. Mabuwaya Director Merlijn Van Weerd said the release of crocodiles was in collaboration with the Isabela State University (ISU), Leiden University of The Netherlands, the local government here and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. Weerd said the crocodiles will be released by 28 Philippine and international students selected from the ISU, The Netherlands, Germany, United Kingdom and visitors from Zoos Victoria in Australia.
