Health officials have vaccinated at least 1,359 children aged 15 years old and below to protect them from viral diseases while being sheltered at the evacuation centers in Zamboanga City. Dr. Rodelin Agbulos, City Health Officer, said they conducted mass immunization for measles, mumps and polio vaccine. Agbulos added that the children were also given Vitamin A aside from the immunization and underwent assessment to determine if they needed deworming. Meanwhile, Agbulos said that pregnant women were provided with tetanus toxoid vaccines. Agbulos said that the City Health Office recorded five cases of measles and three reported cases of chicken pox. However, he said that the patients are now recuperating.
