138 Chinese workers held in Batangas

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has arrested 138 Chinese without working visas but were employed at a construction site in Calaca, Batangas.

BI officer-in-charge Siegfred Mison said that the foreign nationals were arrested after receiving reports on their presence at the project site of the NEPC Power Corp. in Barangay Puting Bato, Calaca after several days of intensive surveillance.

When probed by the BI agents together with the elements of the Calaca Police Station, Mison said that none of the alien workers failed to show their passports or any legal travel documents.

“We will deport them immediately once the Board of Commissioners establish that they have been working here without a visa,” Mison said.

Meanwhile, the BI acting chief advised companies hiring foreign nationals to ensure that the foreign nationals that they are hiring must secure the necessary working permits to work here in the country.

Eh… ano pa nga ba?, business as usual para sa mga tiwaling opisyales na under the table. Tanong, sa kabila ng mahigpit na pamamahala ng immigration, bakit mga nakakalosot ang MGA ito kung walang under the table law. Only in the PH.
