14 nabbed in Agusan del Sur raid


BUTUAN CITY, Agusan del Sur: Fourteen suspects were arrested while prohibited drugs, cash and drug paraphernalia were confiscated in a joint anti-illegal drugs operation in Rosario town, Agusan del Sur yesterday.

The joint team of the Municipal Anti-illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group, the Agusan del Sur Provincial Anti-illegal Drugs Operation Task Group, Police Intelligence Branch and the Provincial Public Safety Company served a warrant to search a house owned by a certain Allan Ocite Rodriguez in Purok 7, Barangay Bayugan 3, Rosario town in Agusan del Sur.

The search warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 7 Judge Hector B. Salise for possible violation of R.A. 9165 or Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 last Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.

The police confiscated 13 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with estimated market value of P350,000 and 13 pieces of empty plastic sachets with traces of white crystalline substance. Authorities also found cash amounting to P44,450 and drug paraphernalia.

The police arrested Almil Dino B. Rodriguez, Alfie C. Rodriguez, Randy Emil S. Rodriguez, Julius E. Castro, Alejandro L. Alabat, Jr., Aljun S. Marano, Marlon S. Guinge, Jonas G. Crospe, Hercullano T. Abella, Democrito L. Quiobe, Julius P. Bajada, Oscar A. Ocite and Efren D. Murillo, who were found inside the house during the search.

The suspects were brought to the Rosario Municipal Police Station for proper disposition while the suspected drugs were submitted to the Regional Crime Laboratory Office 13 at Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez for screening and confirmatory testing.
