• 15,000 children of Mayon evacuees to stay in temporary learning centers


    LEGAZPI CITY: The Department of Education in the Bicol region on Thursday ordered the retention of 15,000 children in temporary learning centers in five towns and two cities in Albay to ensure their safety should the Mayon Volcano erupt. DepEd-Bicol records showed that 54,877 students from 78 affected schools are attending classes in temporary learning centers set up by DepEd and the United Nations Children Fund.
