Eight men and four women were arrested Monday morning in a drug bust operation in the apartment of a Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) employee inside the New Bibilid Prison’s maximum security compound in Muntinlupa City. The group, including Ferdinand Pinson of Bucor’s Support Service, was spotted having a shabu session at about 4 a.m. NBI-7 Special Anti-Drug Operation lawyer Jerome Bomediano said confiscated were several sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia and a .45 caliber pistol. Meanwhile, four persons were arrested in an anti-drug operation in Las Piñas at the house of Rando Bien at Christ the King Subdivision, Talong IV. Senior Supt. Jemar Modequillo, Las Piñas police chief, said Bien was a known drug peddler in the area. Recovered were P300,000 worth of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia and three firearms. Also arrested in the raid were Bien’s live-in partner, Malou Atienza, and two other unidentified robbery suspects.
