• 1,796 seagoing passengers still stranded due to ‘Mario’


    As of 6 a.m. Saturday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) announced that 1,796 of seagoing passengers in Southern Tagalog and the Visayas have been stranded by inclement weather caused by Tropical Storm “Mario”.

    This can be broken down into 573 for Cebu; 515 for Batangas; 312 for Albay; 203 for Tagbilaran; 78 for Sorsogon; 70 for Romblon; and 45 for Lucena.

    Number of vessels prevented from leaving port was placed at 28 and this can be divided into 10 for Cebu; eight for Lucena; four for Tagbilaran; two for Romblon; two for Albay and another two for Sorsogon.

    Immobilized rolling stock was totaled at 223 and these can be broken down into: 171 for Batangas; 22 for Albay; 10 for Lucena; nine for Romblon; six for Cebu; and five for Sorsogon. PNA
