Zambales Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane Jr led the inauguration of special hospital wards exclusively for the use of senior citizens at the President. Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital in Iba town.
The air-conditioned 18-bed facility has separate wards for male and female patients, a nurse’s station, closed-circuit television monitors, a social services desk and a pharmacy. It also has a rehabilitation room, a multi-media lounge and a spacious common waiting room.
The construction and furnishing of the facility costs P13 million.
“We have made arrangements to hire 16 additional nurses to care for you,” Ebdane said in his speech during the ceremony.
Ebdane also said that the provincial capitol will release health care passbooks to elderly residents to enable them to avail of free health and medical services in any of the three government hospitals in the province.
