• 2 big-time drug pushers arrested in Pampanga, P183-M worth of shabu seized


    Two suspected big time dealer of illegal drugs, including a Chinese national, were arrested and P183 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) seized following a drug sting conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Pampanga, an official said Thursday.

    In a belated report, PDEA chief, Director General Arturo Cacdac Jr., identified the arrested suspects as Ding Wenkun, a Chinese national from Xiamen, China, 30 years old, married, a driver; and Roel Cabag alias “Owie,” 48, married, and a resident of Samboan, Cebu City. Both suspects reside in Woodbridge Subdivision, Barangay Divisoria in Mexico, Pampanga.

    Cacdac said the suspects were arrested November 29 by combined police and PDEA operatives after a buy-bust operation in Woodbridge Subdivision in Mexico town.

    He said confiscated from the suspects were 36.7 kilos of suspected shabu with an estimated market value of P183.4 million and the boodle money used during the operation.

    “The success of this operation strengthens the culture of cooperation of all stakeholders. The support of units from other law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders is indispensable and ensure success in our undertakings. Thus, we encourage the conduct of joint anti-illegal drug operations and strengthen cooperation with our local and foreign partners and other institutions that could greatly help us carry out our mandate,” Cacdac said in a statement.

    The suspects will be facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of the Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. PNA
