SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union: The head of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) in La Union and officers of the INC’s Society of Communicators and Network, (SCAN) International filed two separate cases of libel on Tuesday before the prosecutor’s office here against two expelled ministers.

Bro. Jeremias Mendoza Jr, INC supervising minister in La Union, filed charges of libel and unjust vexation against former minister Joy Yuson for alleged damaging statement in an interview aired over a radio station on July 24, 2015 and posts in his website.

Also, Mark Macagba and Rey Ancheta, both officers of SCAN- La Union chapter, also filed libel complaints against expelled minister Lowell Menorca II for calling SCAN as “armed group and being used as hit squad,” which was also aired by a radio station.

The officers said SCAN was created and registered in the government for good intentions such as in conducting socio-civic activities on communications, news reporting, public assistance, first-aid, tree planting, disasters and relief operations, among others.
