Two separate fire incidents hit Makati City Thursday morning.
The first incident hit the informal settlers’ residential area near the corner of Ayala Avenue and Gil Puyat Street fronting the Makati Medical Center (MMC).
The fire which broke out around 10 p.m., had earlier grown and been declared a “general alarm,” according to the Makati City government.
Under a general alarm, all available firefighters in the area are summoned to help put out the fire.
Although the fire occurred in front of the hospital’s emergency department on Amorsolo Street, MMC was not affected and that smoke did not enter its premises.
While firefighters were busy putting out the blaze near MMC, a fire hit another residential are in the city.
The second fire at the corner of Kamagong and Bagtikan Streets in Barangay San Antonio reached Task Force Alpha.
The Makati information department said no one was hurt in the incident.
Fire investigators have yet to know the cause of the blaze.
