2 FIRES HIT SEPARATE AREAS IN QC

Properties were destroyed in two separate fires that hit a residential area and a warehouse in Quezon City on Monday. About 10 families were left homeless from a fire that reached second alarm in Barangay Commonwealth at around 7:54 a.m., while the three-story building of Dextertone Corporation was also razed in a blaze at 9:53 a.m. Quezon City Fire Superintended Jesus Fernandez said the fire was caused by faulty electrical wiring at the two-story house of Alfredo Moreno at Block-6, Lot -11 Samafa Regalado St., Commonwealth. There was no reported casualty nor injury but estimated damage to property was placed at P100,000. Meanwhile, the fire at Dextertone Corp., started at its third floor kitchen area and quickly spread due to the flammable materials being used in the warehouse.Damage to property was estimated at P300,000.
