CEBU CITY: Two religious groups, Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines and Church of the Latter-Day Saints, have offered desalination equipment to the Cebu Provincial Government to help address the lack of water supply in some areas in the province, an official said. Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) head Baltazar Tribunalo said the equipment could convert 500 liters of saltwater to fresh water every hour. Tribunalo said these equipment would be stationed in Doong island in Bantayan town and another equipment in Kinatarcan island, Sta. Fe town, off the northernmost tip of Cebu mainland. Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines is the humanitarian arm of CBN Asia, and is committed to proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ through media, prayer and counseling, humanitarian aid, and cross-cultural missions. The Church of the Latter-Day Saints is one of the organizations actively helping Cebu after it was hit by super typhoon Yolanda in 2013.
