2 high-value drug traders killed


Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija: Two more high-value target drug dealers were killed in separate incidents in this province on Wednesday. Police provincial director Senior Supt. Antonio Yarra said Jovette Talens, 35, was killed in Niyugan village of Jaen town after he tried to grab his 4-year-old daughter to be used as shield from joint operatives of the region’s Public Order and Safety Battalion and Provincial Intelligence Bureau (PIB). Talens is a suspected notorious drug dealer operating in the towns of Jaen, San Antonio, Penaranda, San Leonardo, Gen. Tinio and Cabiao and Gapan City, Chief Insp. Alexander Aurelio of PIB said. Recovered from Talens were nine plastic sachets and a caliber 38 revolver. Similarly, Supt. Ponciano Zapra, Cabanatuan City chief of police, reported that top drug suspect Reagan Ligon Mesde, 32, of Purok 3, Vijandre Village was killed while his brother and two others were arrested during a raid on his house during the serving of a search warrant at the suspect’s house. Those arrested were identified as Eduardo, alias Eduad, Romnick Casapao and Elizabeth Tinio. Seized from the suspects were a 38 caliber revolver and 14 heat-sealed sachets of shabu.
