• 2 injured as police clash with drug pushers in Zamboanga


    ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two persons were wounded in a shootout between policemen and drug pushers in Zamboanga City, officials said Friday.
    The injured were daughters of Aljid Hairul, who managed to escape along with Nushra Araluddin, who were tagged by the police as notorious drug pushers in Zamboanga.
    The Thursday clash occurred in the coastal village of Rio Hondo following a botched drug sting.
    Policemen recovered from Araluddin’s hideout suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), two hand guns, and a military uniform.
    The wounded were brought to the Zamboanga Medical Center. Officials said the two were hit by stray bullets.
