TWO low pressure areas (LPA) around the Philippines were spotted on Wednesday afternoon although they would not be affecting the country directly, the state-run weather bureau said.

“A new LPA was spotted 1,295 kilometers (km) east of Aparri, Cagayan as of 5 p.m. but has no direct impact to the country,” said Obet Badrina, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
