The Light Rail Transit Line 1 will accommodate fewer commuters after two of its coaches collided at the Monumento Station last Saturday morning. Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) spokesperson Hernando Cabrera said the two coaches are now under repair in the Pasay City depot while the incident is under investigation. He added that each LRT coach serves 300 passengers per hour. The LRTA spokesperson added that a fact-finding team is now examining the train’s black box and gathering statements from the train operator, the guards on duty at the said station where the incident occurred and some passengers. Cabrera, however, assured the commuters that the trains and the signaling system are safe and are operating at normal levels.
