TWO miners were killed while another is in critical condition after a lone gunman attacked them on Monday in an abandoned mining pit at a remote village in Camarines Norte province. In a report to the PNP national operations center in Camp Crame, victims Gregorio Sandon Nicodemos, Nino Balce Nicodemos and Bayani Inalisan, all of Paracale, Camarines Norte, were preparing to work at an abandoned mining pit in a bid to earn extra money for the Christmas season and for the celebration of Nino’s birthday. However, gunman Macmac Villafroles reportedly attacked them, shooting his gun several times. Both Sandon and Nino died instantly while Inalisan remains in a critical condition at a local hospital. The Paracale Police is conducting a manhunt operation against the suspect.
