President Benigno Aquino 3rd has appointed four new deputy directors of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) following the relief of Deputy directors Ruel Lasala and Reynaldo Esmeralda.

Lasala and Esmeralda were ordered to vacate their posts after they were implicated in the unauthorized disbursement of P366-million intelligence fund of the Philippine Charity Sweeptakes Office, the basis of the plunder complaint filed against former President and now Rep. Gloria Arroyo of Pampanga.
