2 NPA bomb experts arrested in Bukidnon


CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Two suspected bomb experts of the New People’s Army (NPA) were captured after a brief firefight with the military in the outskirts of Kiburao, a remote village in the town of Quezon, Bukidnon. Capt. Joe Patrick Martinez, spokesman for the Army’s 4th Infantry Division, identified the suspects as Ruel Cololot, carrying an identification card claiming to be a member of the militant Anak Pawis party-list, and Ramil Cololot, a member of the NPA. The suspects were reportedly planning to sow terror in the area. Seized from them were a 57-RR, 24 pieces of improvised explosive devices, two .38 caliber revolvers, 10-meter safety fuse, 200 meters detonating cords, five blasting caps, switch boxes, three laptops, 51 rounds of cal. 30 ammunition, 10 pieces of antenna, firing wires, IED paraphernalia and subversive documents.
