Two people were killed in a clash between armed groups of Maguindanaoans and Ilaga near at the border of Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat provinces on Sunday afternoon, officials said. Col. Melquiades Feliciano, Army’s 601st Infantry Brigade of 6th Infantry Division commander, identified the fatalities as Commander Hudas, a.k.a. Commander Buboy and Henry Tabucon, all of the militant Pulahan or Ilaga group. Long-existing land dispute between the two warring groups was eyed as behind the clash. The military and police forces were sent to secure the area and recover the corpse of the fatalities, while local leaders are doing their best to ease the tension and settle the conflict amicably.
