FOUR communist rebels and two soldiers were killed in an encounter in South Cotabato over the weekend, the military said on Monday.
The gunfight happened in Barangay Ned, Lake Sebu at about 1 p.m. on Sunday when troops from the Philippine Army's 27th Infantry Battalion, verifying reports of armed men in the area, chanced upon 25 members of the New People’s Army (NPA), according to Capt. Mc Gary Dida, civil-military operations officer of the Army's 102nd Infantry Brigade.
