The fighting between Army troops and the rebels took place in Barangay Dupag, Tabuk City.
The military identified the slain soldiers as Cpl. Dominador Concordia and Pfc Rey Raagas, both from the Army’s 17th Infantry Battalion (IB).
Being treated at a hospital were 2nd Lt. Czar Carsido and Pfcs Marnel Langanga and Kennedy Sallaya, the military said.
Troops from the 17th IB were sent to Dupag to check reports that NPA rebels were harassing the community.
