• 2 suspects in Pangasinan rape-slay nabbed

BUGALLON, Pangasinan: A joint police team arrested a farmer and his nephew on Friday for the abduction and rape-slay of a 16-year-old girl who was found on a rice field with multiple hack wounds a day before. Pangasinan Police Director, Senior Supt. Ronald Oliver-Lee, said Feleciano Beltran, 65, of Barangay Pangascasan in Bugallon and his nephew Tomas, 17, were positively identified by witnesses as the abductors of Vannesa Amansec, a grade 7 student at Speaker Eugenio Perez National High School in San Carlos City. Chief Insp. Francisco Castillo, chief of the Bugallon police station, said Tomas admitted that it was Feliciano who planned the abduction and rape after telling him that he was courting the victim. He said Feliciano was the one who hacked the victim with a bolo after they took turns abusing the girl and abandoned her in the rice field.
