2-year old dies in Quezon fire


MACALELON, Quezon: A two-year old girl died in a fire that razed several establishments and residential houses in Barangay Masipag near the public market this town on Saturday afternoon. Quezon Police Provincial Director S/Supt Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan identified the fatality as Agatha Baluyot, two years old of Barangay Masipag, who was left in the house when the fire broke out. Twenty-three others were injured, including 27-year old Jayson Jerez. Macalelon DRRMC Officer Jerry Mabulay reported 50 affected families, 23 damaged business establishments and 50 partially and totally damaged residential houses. Damage to property was estimated at P5M. Initial investigation said faulty electrical wiring installed in a house near the newly constructed public market could have caused the fire.
