SIXTEEN Chinese nationals and four Koreans who were engaged in online gambling were arrested on Monday by operatives of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) during an operation in Angeles City in Pampanga, a senior police official said on Tuesday.CIDG Chief, Director Victor Deona, identified the four arrested Koreans as Zao Ging, Xue Wang Iv, Yao and Wang Tianda. Deona said that the four Koreans were nabbed in a joint police operation by the CIDG and PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) at around 9:30 a.m. at Palm Villas, Clark Freeport Zone in Angeles City, Pampanga. The CIDG Chief said that seized from the four Koreans were six laptop computers, a router, a modem, and assorted computer and wire paraphernalia. Deona added that around 10:30 a.m., the CIDG and ACG team proceeded to the Sweet Villas, Clark Hills Village, Clark Freeport Zone, where they seized two laptop computers, a wifi stick, a flash drive, and four ATM cards in Chinese characters that were in the possession of the 16 Chinese nationals. The CIDG Chief said that all the arrested foreign nationals were charged for violation of RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act).
