TAGUIG Mayor Lani Cayetano said the first 20 patients needing a thorough examination would get free Computed Tomography (CT) scan while succeeding patients will get a 40 percent discount as one of pillars of the city’s program on better access to quality health care services. The city invested on a CT scanner and a newly renovated Tuberculosis Directly-Observed Treatment Shortcourse (TB-DOTS) clinic at the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital. “Before our procurement of the CT scan, patients had to go to other hospitals for their scans. With this new facility available 24/7 there will be no unnecessary delay in diagnosis and treatment,” Cayetano said. A CT scan analyzes internal structures of the body using computer-generated cross-sectional views or pictures that will assist doctors to accurately guide the placement of instruments during operations.
