The Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC) of the Embassy of Japan is now accepting applications for the Research, Undergraduate, Specialized Training College, and College of Technology categories of the 2017 Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship Program.
All Filipino citizens who meet the following qualifications are eligible to apply:
Research (Research Student, Master’s or Doctoral Course): College graduate preferably with 16 years of formal education; Clear and feasible research proposal; Good academic standing; Under 35 years old; Fields of study include Social Sciences, Humanities, and Natural Sciences.
Undergraduate: High school graduate; Good academic standing; 17 to 21 years old; Fields of study include Social Sciences, Humanities, and Natural Sciences
Specialized Training College: High school graduate; Good academic standing; 17 to 21 years old; Fields of study include Technology, Personal Care and Nutrition, Education and Welfare, Business, Fashion and Home Economics, Culture and General Education
College of Technology: High school graduate; Good academic standing; 17 to 21 years old; Fields of study include Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Information Communication and Network Engineering, Materials Engineering, Architecture and Civil Engineering, Maritime Engineering
Application forms and detailed information on prerequisites are available at the JICC Library or may be viewed and downloaded from the embassy website www.ph.emb-japan.go.jp/culture/scholarship/index.htm.
The deadline for submission of applications is on May 27 at the JICC Library. Only hard copies printed on A4 size paper and mailed through courier or hand-delivered to the Embassy will be accepted. JICC is located at Embassy of Japan in Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.
The application process consists of a document screening, written exams, and an interview.
Free scholarship consultations are offered at the JICC Library every Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Interested individuals and walk-in visitors are welcome, but must present a valid ID at the gate to secure access to the embassy premises.
