While everyone is busy deciding what movie to watch come Christmas Day for the Metro Manila Film Festival, ABS-CBN turned heads last week when they presented the network’s first new teleserye for the year with no less than box-office queen Bea Alonzo and one of prime time’s most sought after leading men Ian Veneracion.
Dubbed A Love to Last, the drama series depicts how difficult love can be, even for those who believe in it.
Alonzo plays Andeng Agoncillo in the soap, a bread-winner and successful events organizer. A romantic, she knows there is one man for her with whom she will fall in love and raise a family. Unfortunately, her ideal fairy tale love story was robbed of a happy ending when she caught her fiancé cheating on her just days before their wedding. She quickly picks up the pieces, and unlike others whose hearts have been badly broken, she resolves to still believe that true love will eventually come her way.
Meanwhile, Veneracion is Anton Noble 4th who thought his was happily married until his wife Grace (Iza Calzado) asks for an annulment. He is suddenly left with three children as he juggles his responsibilities as president and CEO of his company.
Fate brings these two souls together in the most unexpected time and place, and wills them to try a love to last.
Also in the cast are Enchong Dee, Julia Barretto, Ronnie Alonte, JK Labajo and Hannah Vito. The series, which airs in January 2017, is directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng and Richard Arellano.
