THE midterm elections will push through in 2019 unless the Constitution will be amended, Malacañang said on Thursday, amid speculations that it could be suspended with the country's possible shift to a federal form of government.

In a press conference, Palace spokesman Harry Roque Jr. reiterated that President Rodrigo Duterte wanted the 2019 elections to proceed as scheduled, junking the "no-election" scenario floated by a pro-administration lawmaker.
