Days after Piolo Pascual, director Joyce Bernal and their team were barred to enter municipalities of Sagada and Banaue, the actor issued a statement clarifying that his trip had nothing to do with his political stand.

It will be remembered that it was on July 5 when the Covid-19 free Sagada Municipality cited its strict quarantine ordinance as the main reason for disallowing the team’s request to shoot background views for the upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA). A day after, the group had the same fate in Banaue, forcing them to stay in Baguio instead.
