UAAP: Tamaraws smother Growling Tigers, stay unbeaten in 6 games



UNDEFEATED Far Eastern University (FEU) demolished a hard-fighting University of Santo Tomas (UST) squad, 77-67, to stay unbeaten in six games in UAAP men’s basketball on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

After ending the first half with a 39-37 lead, the Tamaraws banked on the three-point shooting of guard Terrence Romeo and former UAAP Most Valuable Player Ryan Roose Garcia to cruise to a 6-0 win-loss start.

FEU is one win away of sweeping the first round.

Romeo finished with 19 points, while Garcia added 17 points along with four rebounds and six assists.

The Tamaraws shot 11 triples after three quarters compared to the Tigers’ two.

UST took its second loss in five games for a 3-2 slate.
