• 24 overseas workers out of Libya

THE Philippine Embassy in Tripoli has repatriated 24 distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Libya, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported on Tuesday, in line with the government’s continuing mandatory repatriation program in response to the precarious peace and order situation there. “The Philippine government reiterates its appeal to Filipinos who are still in Libya to avail of the government’s mandatory repatriation program,” the DFA said in a statement. The recent repatriation brings to a total of 5,688 the number of Filipinos already out of the hostilities, while an estimated 2,940 OFWs remain in the war-torn country.
