24 schools to compete in Nestea Beach Volley

TWENTY-FOUR universities will compete in the 2014 Nestea beach Volleyball: Battle of Champions on May 1 to 3 in Boracay.

Ten teams will be coming from Luzon, nine from the Visayas and five from Mindanao.

The 17th edition of the tourney offers a top prize of P100,000, with the second and third finishers receiving P65,000 and P35,000 respectively. Last year’s winners, University of the Visayas in the men’s division and Central Philippine University in the women’s class, will be back to defend their titles.

“We are very excited to give summer a refreshed twist with the 17th Nestea Beach experience,” said Nestea Marketing Promotions and Event’s Manager Jedessa Leyte during the event’s launch on Tuesday at the Best Western Hotel in Makati.

“The hottest parties this summer will also happen on the same week, and Nestea will bring in world-renowned DJs Cedric Gervais and Steve Aoiki,” Leyte added.

Also present during the launch were Milo Sports executive Robbie De Vera and Otie Camangian, the secretary-general of the Philippine Volleyball Federation as well as Nestea Beach technical director.
