Three children were injured in a fired that swept through slum dwellings under the Quezon Bridge in Manila Thursday morning.
The children suffered burns in their faces and bodies during the fire that lasted only for several minutes, but reached third alarm.
Treated at the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center were sisters Angeline 12, and Angela Ronquillo, 8, and a third victim that was not immediately identified.
SFO4 John Joseph Jalique of Manila Arson, said the three were declared out of danger.
Jalique said there were at least 50 makeshift houses built under the bridge that connects Quiapo and Lawton.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation, but it was learned that it started at the house of a certain Alex Atong.
The houses under the bridge are under the jurisdiction of Barangay 306 Zone 30, Carlos Palanca Street.
