3 dead, 2 critically hurt in Isabela road accident


NAGUILIAN, Isabela: Three persons died instantly while two others are now in critical condition after their pick-up type vehicle rammed onto the rear part of a six-by-six truck at the national road at 1:50 a.m. today in Magsaysay village here, police said.

Police Senior Supt. Sotero Ramos, Isabela police director, identified the fatalities as Maryjane Sales and cousins Jessie and Rodel Crisostomo. In critical condition at the Governor Faustino Dy Sr. Memorial Hospital are Eduardo Sales, car owner-driver, and Jonifer Edrada.

Probers said the Navarra pick-up car slammed onto the rear part of the six-by-six truck (loaded with sacks of corn kernels) driven by Jed Bagauisan, a 29-year-old driver in Cadsalan, San Mariano town.

Sales and his family came from Cauayan City and were on their way home to Ilagan City when they met the accident.

Charges of multiple homicide and double serious physical injuries have been lodged against Bagauisan. PNA
