3 dead in Pangasinan ambush


THREE persons suspected to be drug dealers were killed following an ambush Friday night in a suburban village in Pangasinan province, police reports said Saturday.

Reports at the Philippine National Police operations center in Camp Crame identified the fatalities as Napoleon Paraan, 45, of Mangaldan town; and Reynaldo Martinez, 47, and Mamerto Penuliar Jr., 49, both of Sta. Barbara town.

The ambush occurred at around 9 p.m. on Friday at Sitio Silungan, Barangay Bonuan Binloc, Dagupan City. The victims were on board a tricycle driven by Paraan when they were fired upon several times by still unidentified suspects, killing them almost instantly, reports said.

Several plastic sachets allegedly containing shabu were recovered from the victims. The police are investigating the said incident to arrest the suspects and to identify the motive behind the killing.
