• 3 die in North Cotabato IED blast in North Cotabato


    The death toll in the IED (improvised explosive device) blast in Malang town, North Cotabato has now climbed to three, a military spokesperson disclosed Monday.

    Capt. Jo-ann Petinglay, 6th Infantry Division public affairs office chief, said Rex Javier, who sustained serious wounds in the explosion that took place 7: 35 p.m. Sunday, died while undergoing treatment at the Kidapawan Hospital.

    Earlier, the two persons who died on the spot, were identified as Lourence John Camiring and Jade Villarin.

    The number of wounded has now climbed to 23, higher by nine than what was earlier reported, at 14.

    Eight were admitted to various hospitals in the area while 15 were treated for minor injuries and declared as outpatients.

    The blast took place at the vicinity of Marcelo H. Del Pilar, corner Rivas Street, Poblacion A, Malang town.

    Investigations are still ongoing to determine the identity of the suspects behind this blast. PNA
