THREE children and their father were killed while three other members of their family were wounded in what police said to be another case of rido or clan war on Monday night in Carmen, North Cotabato.
Police Supt. Bernard Tayong, Cotabato Police Provincial Office (CPPO) spokesman, identified the victims as Sarah Agal, 9; Pama Agal, 10; Mustafa Agal, 12; and Ibrahim Agal, 50, all residents of Barangay Ugalingan, Carmen.
The other family members wounded in the carnage were identified as Mokamad Agal, 18; Nashrudin Agal, 9; and Jerry Agal, 42.
Police said the victims were inside the Agal compound at around 7:30 p.m., when the suspects, all armed with high-powered assault rifles, fired at the victims at close range.
Two of the children, died on the spot, while the other two expired undergoing treatment at the Cotabato Provincial Hospital in Kidapawan City.
The victims sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of their bodies.
Barangay chairman Romulo Lavisores of Ugalingan, said the Agal family was originally from nearby Barangay Manili, also in Carmen town. They transferred to Brgy. Ugalingan a few months ago after an armed group assaulted their family.
A massive police manhunt operation was launched in the entire North Cotabato and nearby provinces against the suspects.
