Three moderate earthquakes shook various provinces of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao on Thursday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the first quake with a magnitude of 3.5 occurred at 1:49 a.m. Its epicenter was traced 39 kilometers northeast of Sarangani town in Davao Oriental with a shallow depth of 64 kilometers.
The second tremor with a magnitude of 3.1 happened at 2:06 a.m. and its epicenter was located 27 kilometers northeast of Bolinao town in Pangasinan and had a shallow depth of 42 kilometers.
Another quake with magnitude of 3.1 occurred in Northern Samar at around 8:07 a.m. Its epicenter was traced 70 kilometers southwest of Catarman and had a shallow depth of 82 kilometers.
Phivolcs said that no reported intensities from the three tremors, there was no report of damage or casualty from these tremors, which were all tectonic in origin.
Phivolcs further noted that aftershocks are not expected as well. PNA
