Camp Vicente Lim, Laguna: Three more drug pushers were killed in separate police anti-illegal drugs operations in Calamba City and Bacoor City on Monday, while the most wanted in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) region was arrested.
Calamba City Chief of Police, Supt. Fernando Ortega, said the suspects, identified only as alias “Quepet” and alias “Ebok,” were slain after they engaged law enforcers in an anti-illegal drugs entrapment operation in Barangay Canlubang, Calamba City at 2:30 p.m.
Recovered from the suspects were a 9mm-pistol and five sachets of shabu.
Similarly, a suspected drug dealer was shot dead, while two plastic sachets of shabu and a .22-cal pistol were recovered by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 4-A operatives in Bacoor City.
Director Jigger Montallana, PDEA 4A officer-in-charge, said they were about to conduct a buy-bust operation at Dulong Habay in Barangay Habay Dos, when their target – Jonathan Gaot, who was hiding in a dark and grassy area – fired at the operatives.
Gaot did not reach the hospital alive.
Meanwhile, Calabarzon’s most wanted for two counts of murder – Ramil Rubis – was arrested in Sitio Piapi, Barangay Cagsiay 3, Mauban in Quezon on Monday.
Rubis is facing the charges before the sala of Judge Juanita Areta, Regional Trial Court Branch 86 in Taal, Batangas.
