3 Puerto Princesa govt employees face perjury rap

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY: Three Puerto Princesa city government employees are facing perjury charges for allegedly filing spurious plunder and malversation complaint against former City Mayor Edward Hagedorn before the Office of the Ombudsman. The three government employees namely; Rodrigo Saucelo, Wilfredo Rama, and Antonio Lagrada, claimed before the Ombudsman in April this year that Hagedorn illegally obtained P4 million in public funds. In her 7-page resolution recommending that the case go on trial, Associate City Prosecutor Zenaida Razon said, “As nothing was presented to rebut said evidence and likewise considering that they (Saucelo, Rama and Lagrada) are government employees currently working at the local government of Puerto Princesa, respondents are therefore presumed to have knowledge of this possession and actual use of electric vehicles.” Hagedorn has always maintained that the cases against him before the Ombudsman was another desperate move to besmirch his name and reputation.
