As the blaze of the summer heat arrives, everyone will start looking ways to cool down. The last thing we want is to turn on the airconditioner only to find out that it doesn’t work. When it sits idle for months, maintenance is needed to get it back into shape.

Electrolux, a global leader in home appliances, has prepared a simple checklist to ensure your air conditioner is summer-ready.

Clean or replace the filters. This is the simplest but most important step in maintaining your unit. Filters should be regularly cleaned and/or replaced, depending on the usage. Poorly maintained air filters not only hurt the energy efficiency of your unit, but also affect the quality of air that you breathe. The Electrolux Viva Grande Air Conditioner comes with a Self-Cleaning Function that helps prevent mold formation to ensure clean air and a longer service life, all at a touch of a button.

Clear the debris. In a typical split-type air conditioner, the condensing unit is usually located outside your house. Make sure that there are no obstructions to the fan and airflow of the condenser. Remove the leaves and other debris and make sure the drain is clear. You can use a vacuum cleaner or a rag to clean the outer part of the condenser. Remember to disconnect the power supply of your unit before doing this.

Call for help. If you are unsure on how to clean your air conditioner, it’s best to leave it to the experts. The Electrolux Customer Care team is one call away for service requests. Just dial the hotline 845-CARE (2273), or the domestic PLDT toll-free number 1-800-10-845-CARE (2273).
