Members of the Philippine National Police’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) killed three suspected drug pushers during a buy-bust on Wednesday night near a popular supermarket in Plaridel, Bulacan, a police official said on Thursday.
Supt. Elizabeth Jasmin, CIDG spokeswoman, identified one of the three suspects as Jerax Desiderio alias Jingo de Guzman.
Jasmin said the buy-bust was conducted by the CIDG Region-3 Office, Bulacan Provincial Police Office, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Regional Intelligence Division 3.
She added that operation targeting Desiderio was conducted around 10:50 p.m. in the vicinity of Waltermart store in Plaridel.
Jasmin said the three suspects arrived in the area on board a Ford Ranger pick-up truck and were quickly approached by a police who posed as a buyer.
When the suspects sensed that they were transacting with a policeman, they immediately opened fire, prompting the police to shoot back, she added.
Jasmin said the police recovered from the site plastic sachets of suspected shabu, one .45 caliber pistol, one .38 caliber revolver and one Ingram machine pistol.
