A candidate whose name is Clark Field 3rd Chalipe Arrono, 39, a resident of Barangay San Agustin, San Fernando City, filed a certificate of candidacy for La Union provincial governor, his second in a row.
He said his platform would be to preserve the culture and the welfare of the barangays.
Arrono will go against seasoned gubernatorial candidates, namely, Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” Ortega 3rd, and Undersecretary Henry Bacurnay.
Provincial Election Officer Joel Gines said it is the Commission on Elections main office in Manila who would determine if a candidate is considered as a nuisance candidate. The names of nuisance candidates would be taken out from the list of candidates.
Meanwhile, Police Supt. Julius Suriben, San Fernando City police director, said that police personnel have been deployed at registration areas to maintain peace and order among opposing candidates.
